I am dreaming of a Smoke Free Texas...
advocacy campaign
SOLE impact participants, in the spring 2009 program, made their voices heard by creating an “I am dreaming of a Smoke Free Texas” Poster Campaign. These 72 girls offered their confident voices and artistic talents and delivered a powerful message. The posters expressed distaste for second hand smoke, environmental concerns and endless promises never to smoke themselves. It is certain that the sweet hands that created this powerful poster campaign will never pick up a cigarette.
Two of our SOLE impact participants submitted the following anti-smoking poem:
Don’t be smoking or you’ll be choking.
Be a good sport and run in support.
No smoking in bars or in cars.
We are all little pearls just trying to have fun.
All together now, we’re GIRLS RUN!
